Stunning image: Lightning strikes Willis Tower in Chicago

A colossal lightning bolt sized up an equally colossal target in Chicago Wednesday: the 1,451-foot Willis Tower, the second-tallest building in the country.

As a massive storm system dumped heavy rains on Chicago Wednesday and buffeted the city with winds strong enough to halt some flights and trains, a gigantic lightning bolt from the gale blasted the top of the 1,451-foot Willis Tower, the second-tallest building in the U.S. that was known as the Sears Tower until 2009.
