The temblor' epicenter was 88 miles off the California coast.

MEXICO CITY - A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck 88 miles southwest of the coast of California at 2:36 a.m. PST, the U.S. Geological Survey reported on Friday.

It said the quake was recorded at a depth of 11 km.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
