22 years later, woman arrested over $85 in unpaid court costs

Authorities in Florida told WESH.com the Connecticut woman had failed to pay the court costs in 1991, when she was 18.

A Connecticut woman was arrested in Florida for failing to pay $85 in court costs in connection with a 22-year-old shoplifting charge, according to Orlando TV station WESH.com.

Robin Hall, 41, was arrested by authorities on Thursday in Port Canaveral, Fla., after her family returned from a cruise on the Disney Dream, according to WESH.com.

In an interview with the TV station, Hall, who helps design jet engines for Pratt & Whitney, admitted she had shoplifted a pack of cigarettes from an Orange County, Fla., Walmart in 1991.

Authorities told WESH.com that Hall failed to pay the $85 in court costs at that time. They discovered the warrant for Hall while checking the ship's passenger list for terrorists, according to WESH.com, and waited for Hall as she and her family returned to port.

She was arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail, and according to Orlando TV station WFTV she has not been allowed to post bail because she must be transferred first to Orange County.
