Rumor: Man orders most expensive Starbucks drink, at $47.30

The 27-year-old took his caffeine craving to record-breaking level for birthday drink.

UNCONFIRMED: Man orders world's most expensive Starbucks drink

A Washington state man has ordered the world's most expensive Starbucks drink, according to reports by UPI, Mashable and other news outlets.

Beau Chevassus, along with the help of staff at his local Washington state Starbucks, put together the record-breaking coffee drink for his 27th birthday.

Shattered previous record

UPI reports Chevassus' "Quadriginoctuple Frap" set him back $47.30. His concoction shattered last year's record of $23.60, a drink with 16 shots of espresso, according to Mashable.

The drink contained 48 shots of espresso in a mocha Frappuccino, including extras like soy mocha drizzle, protein powder, caramel brulee topping, strawberries, bananas, caramel drizzle, Frappuccino chips and vanilla bean.

But Chevassus didn't actually pay for the drink, NWCN reports. Since it was his birthday, Starbucks gave the caffeine-overloaded drink to him for free.
