Rumor: Kevin Bacon wears prosthetic disguise when riding NYC subway

The actor says he rides every day and often wears disguises to avoid being recognized.

CONFIRMED: Actor Kevin Bacon frequently rides the New York City subway wearing a disguise

Daily commuters on New York City's subway may have been riding next to Hollywood A-lister Kevin Bacon and not even known it. In an interview with People magazine, the actor says he rides the subway "every day" and recently had a prosthetic disguise made to avoid being recognized, though the result wasn't what he expected.

Being disguised not that fun

While some stars relish whatever privacy they can achieve in public and go to great lengths to avoid being recognized, Bacon tells UPI that his time riding while disguised wasn't as enjoyable as having fans fawn over him.

"I didn't like it very much; no one was nice to me," he tells UPI. "People didn't bother me, but they also looked right through me.''

'Solitaire' and 'Angry Birds'

Bacon tells People that New York's subway is "the fastest way to get around the city" and "when I'm on the train, I play solitaire, Angry Birds and backgammon on my phone." Given the huge number of subway riders who play the same games on their phones, perhaps it's no wonder that no one has noticed him.
