Alan Robertson, the oldest of the Robertson brothers, is set to join the cast of the hit reality TV show 'Duck Dynasty'.

TRUE: Oldest brother joins reality TV series

Alan Robertson, the oldest brother of the Duck Commander family, is joining the hit reality TV series "Duck Dynasty," according to a New York Post report.

Alan will leave behind his current job as a Louisiana pastor to join his family on the A&E series, UPI reports. Unlike the rest of the duck clan, Alan lacks the trademark beard but says he does let it grow during duck season.

"The beards are so iconic," Alan Robertson told the NY Post. "All this time I've been flying under the radar; I can go to Starbucks and get Mama coffee. That's about to change."

MSN Entertainment reports that he hopes by joining the show he'll be able to spread the word of God. "What I do for our church — you see, it's a pretty good-sized church — impacts a lot of people," Alan said. "But because of my association with the show, I'll get to minister to a lot more people. Any person that's an evangelist, that's what you want to do, so I had to give this up for something possibly bigger."

Viewers will also get to meet Alan's wife Lisa and their daughters, Anna and Alex.

Tune in to see Alan on August 14 when "Duck Dynasty" returns for its fourth season.
