Getting unhitched: Sarah Palin's son Track files for divorce

Track Palin, former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's oldest son, has filed for divorce after 19 months of marriage.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The oldest child of former Republican vice-presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has filed for divorce.

Alaska court records show Track Palin and his wife, Britta Hanson, filed a petition for dissolution of marriage on Dec. 1. The court system website does not list attorneys for either party.

The filing was first reported Wednesday by celebrity website TMZ.

The couple married in May 2011 and they have a 16-month-old daughter.

The 9/11 attacks prompted Track Palin to enlist in the Army and he spent a year deployed in Iraq. When his mother became the Republican vice-presidential candidate in 2008, she spoke at his deployment ceremony in Fairbanks, one of her few trips back to Alaska while on the campaign trail that fall.
