Vogue editor Wintour on US ambassador shortlist, sources say

Matthew Barzun, who served as finance chairman in President Obama’s presidential campaign, also is interested in the job, Bloomberg News reports.

President Barack Obama is considering Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, as his next ambassador to either the United Kingdom or France, according to a Bloomberg News report.

Wintour, 63, may have some competition for the London posting, however. Matthew Barzun, finance chairman of Obama’s presidential campaign, also is interested in the job, Bloomberg reported.

Both Wintour and Barzun were among Obama’s biggest bundlers of donations in his 2012 campaign, with each raising more than $500,000 to help re-elect the president.
