Jack Galardi: Strip club kingpin (1931-2012)
Family members are planning a weekend memorial service for a strip club kingpin whose empire stretched from Las Vegas to Miami.
LAS VEGAS — Teri Galardi tells the Associated Press her father Jack Galardi died Saturday at his ranch in Georgia, after health complications in recent years. He was 81.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Korean War veteran at one point owned 30 topless cabarets, and owned nine at the time of his death.
His daughter said the self-made man was "generous almost to a fault," and known to pay medical bills for people who couldn't afford treatment.
He suffered fallout when his adopted son, Michael Galardi, was implicated in a corruption case that sent four former Clark County Commissioners to prison in 2006. Jack Galardi was not implicated the case.
