TV host Huell Howser dies

Huell Howser was the host of several travel shows about California, including "California's Gold."

"California’s Gold" host Huell Howser has died of natural causes at age 67, TMZ reports. According to TMZ, the television icon died in his home in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Howser spent 18 seasons hosting the popular travel show. He became a popular television personality after hosting multiple shows about his travels in California, including "Visiting with Huell Howser" and "Road Trip with Huell Howser." He is a native of Tennessee who moved to Los Angeles in 1981.

Howser retired from "California’s Gold" in November after 18 seasons and 440 episodes.
