SEATTLE — Seattle hip-hop artist Freddy E died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 22, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Frederick E. Buhl, known as Freddy E, died Saturday in Renton, located about 10 miles outside Seattle, apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot, according to the King County Medical Examiner's office, The Seattle Times reported.
Buhl became popular for his music as well as his YouTube channel, “Jerk TV.” The humorous channel had thousands of subscribers and millions of video views.
Buhl also had a Twitter account where, on Saturday, he began posting distressed messages. “I’m sorry,” he wrote, after posting, “I love you Mom” and “I love you Dad.” Earlier, Buhl wrote, “It’s… all… bad… y’all.”
MTV reported that some fans blamed the suicide on heartbreak caused by rapper Honey Cocaine, Buhl's ex-girlfriend. MTV reported that the two had broken up recently and that after Buhl's death, fans flooded Twitter to attack Honey Cocaine. She refuted the claims that she somehow contributed to Buhl's death, saying on Twitter that accusing her for what happened "is ignorance." "We were homies," she wrote Sunday. "We had a bond and a connection."
